US Storage Search: Specialties

US Storage Search is a self storage search engine that brings self storage, wine storage, vehicle storage and mobile storage to one web page so that users may easy find the self storage or specialized storage unit they’re looking for.

The home page of USstoragesearch.com clearly offers specialty storage like mobile storage, vehicle storage, and wine storage in the lower, right-hand corner. The mobile storage link leads users to a USstoragesearch.com site specially designed for mobile storage. The mobile storage site offers a “quick search” option for users to enter a zip code or city and state.

Mobile storage is a convenience to consumers needing to relocate their home or place their belongings into self storage. Mobile storage delivers storage units to your driveway, back yard, or street. The idea is that you can then move your items in at your own pace and arrange for your units to be picked up by your storage provider. The service provider then keeps your things safe in a secure warehouse. When you’re ready to have your belongings re-delivered they bring the pods back to your door step or new home and you unpack them at your leisure. When you’re done, the company picks up the empty containers.

Customers of mobile storage should keep in mind home association rules or regulations by their city of what is allowed to be parked or left on the street. Driveways, however, are generally fair game.

Users of the US Storage Search mobile storage search engine can also click on any state shown on the map of the United States in order to reach a page containing a pull down menu of possible cities in which to find mobile storage providers registered with USstoragesearch.com.

Once you’ve located a city and state for mobile storage, the registered providers will be listed. Each listing provides the company name and “Get Quote” and “Virtual Tour” columns. All of these link to another USstoragesearch.com page that gives more details about the company you select.

Within each company’s specific advertisement with US Storage Search, that company will have the opportunity to provide users with their direct phone number, their company web page and office hours.

More detailed information can be provided by the company in tabs for the following categories.
1. About Us
a. A brief history, goal or advertisement for the selected company may appear under the About Us category.
2. Amenities
a. The selected company has the opportunity to list the features, conveniences and security they offer.
3. Unit Size
a. The company can possibly enter the measurements of their mobile storage pods and list the size of their self storage unit, if they offer self storage in addition to mobile storage. (Although while navigating their web page, I did not see any listed measurements of the size of the mobile storage pod itself, only self storage unit sizes. But keep in mind I did not view every facility’s individual listing.)

4. Specials
a. If the business you’ve selected offers an online special through US Storage Search, you may find it here.

Although these categories are outlined for the companies registered with USstoragesearch.com, they are not mandatory and it is not uncommon for registered businesses to leave some areas blank.

Registered businesses can also put information in which ever category they like. For example, one business may put a list of their amenities in the “About Us” category and leave the “Amenities” category blank. So, it can be inconsistent when you’re looking at several locations.

The price for mobile storage is not listed on the USstoragesearch.com web page. This could be attributed to the varying costs of specialty storage, especially mobile storage. It’s important for consumers getting mobile storage quotes to ask about pick up and delivery fees, in addition to monthly rent charges. Some mobile storage companies also charge a fee for retrieving your storage pod once it has been stored in their warehouse. The associate you work with should tell you all these fees, but if they do not, make sure you ask.

US Storage Search also has a “Click For Free Quote” link in which a user can enter their contact information and a little bit about when and where they need mobile storage. The information is sent to US Storage Search for follow up.

The US Storage Search web page has a row of stationary tabs that help users navigate the page. One of these stationary tabs is “Moving Center”. This tab allows a customer to enter their information such as contact information, general size of dwelling intended for storage, origin and destination points, timeframe, if you’ll need self storage, how long you anticipate needing storage, if you need boxes or if you need a truck rental and if you’re interested in a home security system.

Once this data is submitted, a representative will contact you. It is curious as to why US Storage Center asks a customer filling out a form for mobile storage if they’ll need a truck. Isn’t a huge point and marketed convenience of mobile storage the fact that you don’t have to go through the hassle of loading and unloading a truck or paying to rent one? Also, why do they ask if you’re interested in a home security system? Is Us Storage Search also in the home security business or do they sell these leads to other businesses? If so, to whom else do they provide your information?

USstoragesearch.com does not provide a storage estimator, as offered with self storage, for mobile storage. Mobile storage is a relatively new innovation in the self storage industry and consumers are less familiar with the size of mobile pods and crates. It’s important to help consumers understand how to efficiently pack them and how much they can expect to fit into one unit. A mobile storage estimator would be extremely beneficial to USstoragesearch.com.

Wine storage is a brand new concept in the world of self storage. While connoisseurs of wine may have their own cellar, or be a member of elite wine associations and expensive wine storing clubs, self storage allows collectors the luxury of collecting fine wine combined with the affordability of keeping it safe. No matter if you’re an avid wine collector, or a novice to the hobby, wine of any kind needs special care in order to bring you enjoyment and pleasure from every scent and taste.

US Storage Search does provide a link to wine storage from its home page. Upon entering the link, a “quick search” option and a list of states, including the District of Columbia, appear.

At first glance, it seems like the fast track to finding wine storage; however, upon entering a city and state or clicking on a state listed takes the customer to a list of self storage providers, not wine storage specifically.

If you’re unsure about where you can locate wine storage, clicking on the state should provide only a list of cities in which wine storage is offered. This is not the case. The list is the same as the self storage directory. So a user has to guess at which city might offer wine storage.

It would be more practical if the wine storage link from the USstoragesearch.com home page leads the consumer only to those facilities that offered wine storage.

Vehicle storage is valuable to those with large RV’s needing a place to park, families with more cars than they have parking for, those with boats needing a home and car collectors. US Storage Search has a “Vehicle Storage” link from their home page. This seems like a promising and effective way to find the perfect place to park your vehicle.

USstoragesearch.com’s vehicle storage follows the same avenue as wine storage. Once you’re in the link to vehicle storage, you’re in no better shape than you were from the general self storage page. Every registered self storage provider still comes up in the search, even if they don’t offer parking or specialized storage for vehicles.

This can prove to be problematic and users are likely to get frustrated with the guessing game and look to another source to learn how to find vehicle storage.

US Storage Search contains thousands and thousands of registered providers of self storage, boat storage, RV storage, car storage, wine storage and more. They claim to be the most comprehensive search engine to meet your storage needs. Perhaps they do have more registered businesses than others out there do, but if you can’t easily access the one self storage unit you’re looking and separate it from the other 46,000-plus units they list, what’s the point of searching for a needle in a hay stack?
