Murfreesboro is a small but growing city to the south of Nashville, TN in the 37129 zip code. With a population of around 80,000 there is a lot of commerce and housing growth. New developments are starting everyday. It is the county seat for Rutherford County and the fast growing city in the state of Tennessee. Murfreesboro, originally named Cannonsburgh, was briefly the State Capital. In 1817, "Murfreesboro" was recognized as an official city by the State Legislature and, in 1818, was named the capital of Tennessee because of its central location. However, Nashville regained title as the State capital in 1826. Murfreesboro is a rare town that is has grown to “City-size” but retained its small town feel, which why it was voted the most livable city in Tennessee. It features the Bradley Academy Museum and Culture Center, the Center for the Arts, and Oakland’s Historic House Museum.

Of course, with such rapid growth, there comes a serious need for storage facilities. That is because families are constantly moving into Murfreesboro, and sometimes, their new houses aren’t quite finished when the job starts, so they need temporary housing. The temporary situation, naturally will not accommodate their entire houseful of furniture and personal belongings. Which is why we built a modern facility to service the 37129 zip code, in order to help people who need storage, either on a temporary basis or for the long-term. The timing of a move doesn’t always work out the way it should. Try as we might to plan everything down to the day, Murphy’s Law prevents smooth sailing much of the time. Sometimes the closing takes longer than believed, or the contractor has to put the finishing touches on the house and is late because of inclement weather or a subcontractor such as a plumber who was delayed on another project. Your new house cannot move forward often until the plumber has laid the foundational supply and waste conduits. Any number of things can delay construction of a new house. But time doesn’t wait around for us. A new job starts when we are hired, and sometimes, we have to find interim housing until the contractor is done. At timed like this, a locally owned, well-run storage facility such as StorPlace Murfreesboro can be a real lifesaver.

Our units range from large to small. The most basic is a 5x5 square, which really popular among college students whose dorms can not accommodate all their stuff. College kids move from place to place often, and often need a temporary location for their musical equipment, paintings and wall hangings, futons, desks, computers, golf clubs and neon signs. The classic Budweiser sign has to go somewhere until after summer when the new place will be available. Our most popular size is 10x10. With 100 square feet (sq ft) of space, the 10x10 unit can store a bedroom or living room set. The average sofa is 6-7 feet long, which you can fit two of them in 10x10 unit. Even with tow of them, there is plenty of room for end tables and over a hundred boxes, lighting fixtures, lamps, area rugs, chest of drawers, cedar chests, knick-knacks and other items.

Our buildings are modern and clean with hallways and multi-level buildings. Surprisingly, not all storage units have these features. Some units are still the old style outside access garage units placed in messy construction style sites with dirt road access. You’ve seen them perched between the Town Road Crew building and the sand mining outfit. Such an outfit will certainly store stuff, but it runs the risk of contaminating your belongings with dust and debris. Vermin and birds might have inside access and the unit is not protected from the environment the way it should be. Most of all, it’s just not a pleasant or confidence inspiring place to go to access your things. At StorPlace, we want to make sure your storage experience is a good one. You deserve the best, and StorPlace sets the industry standards in the Nashville area by keeping up with and being ahead of the curve on industry standards for service, security, cleanliness, and cost.
